Our hair color is one of the physical attributes that make us different from  one another. By changing its color, it also alters the way we look, according to  how we prefer our looks to be.

Hair coloring or dyeing may be done on your own at home, but often to save  the hassles of mixing dyes and peroxides, we may prefer to have this done at a  hair salon and have our it dyed by an expert hair colorist to achieve the best  results. An hair colorist specializes not only in the skill of applying the hair  dye without staining the scalp, but a true connoisseur on hair coloring is  someone who know the facts as well as the figures of his expertise. There are  many things that a hair colorist must know such as its properties, what color is  most suitable for a particular client or even something about how hair dyeing  evolved. These information are necessary, not only in chatting with a client but  will also make the hair colorist more adept in his trade.

As early as 27 BC, hair dyeing has already been practiced by the Gauls whom  dyed their hair red as an indication of class rank. In the Dark Ages however,  red hair was believed to be linked to witchcraft. Until when red-haired Queen  Elizabeth sat on the throne, the idea of witchcraft turned into a sign of  regalness. Much like the idea of how blonde hair seemed more alluring to men.  During the Renaissance period, women achieved angelic golden hues for their hair  by applying a mixture of black sulfur, alum and honey, then exposing the hair to  the sunlight.
